As per 7^th pay commission the Airmen in Indian Air Force, whether Group X & Y comes in pay matrix level 3 and it ranges from Rs 21700 - 69100. It means your starting basic pay or Pay in Band will be Rs 21700 and the gross salary per month will be different for Group X & Y because of difference in various allowances. Per month salary will be as follows  

Group X Airmen           -        Rs 43,000/-  per month

Group Y Airmen           -        Rs 35,000/- per month

The applicable allowances are as follows:-

(a)     X-Pay         The rates for X-Pay are Rs 6200/- per month and Dearness allowance also applicable on this.

(b)     MSP (Military Service Pay)          The rate of Military Service pay for airmen of Group X & Y is Rs 5200 per month and Dearness allowance is also applicable on this.     

(c)     HRA (House Rent Allowance)    If you are married then full rates are applicable if government accommodation not provide and subject to city. The full applicable rates are 24%, 16% & 8% of Basic pay or pay in band respectively as per place of posting. The cities all over India divided as per the population for this purpose. For unmarried it is called reduced rate HRA means you have to reduce 5% from the full applicable rate

(d)     Transport Allowance   It is also applicable as per the place of posting. It also includes Dearness allowance means it revises every 6 months as per hike in DA. The rates for Airmen are 3600+DA and 1800+DA respectively as per place of posting.

(e)     Special Forces Allowances                 In case after completion of your training if you join Special Forces of respective cadre like NSG or other in house special forces i.e.  Garud then you will become eligible for respective allowance on successful completion of training. The rate per month is Rs 17,000/- .

(f)      Dress Allowance       The rate of Dress Allowance is Rs 10,000/- per year and same is paid to the Airmen in the month of July every year.

(g)     Children Education Allowance  The rate for CEA is Rs 27,000/- for each academic year from Class pre-primary to class 12^th for two children and is paid after obtaining from the Head of institution/Principal/HM on completion of academic session. This is also applicable for 3 children in case second birth of children results in twins but in case first birth           

(h)     LRA (Leave Ration allowance)   The ration rates Rs 117 per day and in case of leave it is applicable for 75 days. The calculation for per month will be 75 days x Rs 117 = Rs 8775 for one year and per month that you will get will be Rs 8775/12 = Rs 731 per month.  

(j)      Other allowancesThese allowances includes Siachen Allowance, Field area, Modified field area allowances are also applicable as per the posting.
